When we use online services (e.g. shopping, email, messaging, social media) we have to authenticate ourselves to the service so that they know it is us. This is often done by providing a user name (often an email address) and a password. Sometimes this will also involve some form of second factor authentication (2FA) like a a six digit one-tome-only code.
This guidance sheet will provide a number of guidance posts on how to secure your accounts and best practice when using username/passwords.
